The sweat lodge is based on a traditional American Indian ritual.
Volcanic rocks are heated in a wood fire and transferred to the
lodge. Water is poured over the glowing hot rocks to create steam
and herbs are sprinkled over the stones. After 20-30 minutes of
profusely perspiring, guests can take a dip in a cold tub and
then transfer to the hot tub. The hot and cold tubs are stock
feed tanks that accommodate two persons. The hot tub is heated
by a Chofu, a Japanese wood stove. An outdoor shower completes
the complex. After a day of hiking or other physical activity,
can you imagine anything more revitalizing?
